Bio

Get ready for Eva Almagor s Southern Soul.
Songs full of blues and pop, a voice that reminds you of singers like Bonnie Raitt and Norah Jones and a great band that bring fresh vintage vibes, influenced by all their musical heroes.

For years Eva has been playing a series of shows from on-air radio performances to intimate theaters to larger festival stages; Dutch radio stations such as LiveUitLloyd, Noardewyn, RTL Lounge, 3FM, Radio 1, 2, 5, and 6, Oerol, support acts for JJ Grey & Mofro (US) dutch artists like De Dijk, Krystl and Dany Lademacher s Wild Romance. Together with her band and producer/engineer Werner Pensaert (K s Choice, Hooverphonic) she recorded her first live studio album in 2016. Her debut album "Against the grain" is out now!

“The Norah Jones of the Netherlands, with a lot more blues and balls.”
-OngekendTalent NCRV-

"A blues and roots record as prudent spring sunshine, pleasant and warming."
-bluesmagazine-

"Negatives? None. Or it must be that the numbers are kept short on the cd...The album sounds relaxed and has a warm blues and roots feeling." -3voor12 Gelderland-

"Eva Almagor proves to be an excellent addition to the already excellent new generation singer-songwriters. With people like Eva hand-made music in the Netherlands will be fine."
-Barn Owl Blues-

"Speaking of real supertalent! Between Shelby Lynne, Dusty Springfield, Susan Tedeschi and Mathilde Santing. A wonderfully diverse roots album with absolutely no lack of soul! If she gets what she has earned, Almagor is gonne be big! A compliment for her companions and producer Pensaert, they also indeed did an excellent job of international class!" -Ctrl Alt Country-

"A primal american souding voice, with grail, all you expect of good contemporary country music. Radio worthy. We had about three songs to maneuver our lower jawback into a more of less, presentable position. There is really no excuse to not buy this stunning debut." -Rootstime-

"On a Against the grain you find a refind blend of blues and roots, carefully wrought to twelve warm-blooded songs, hopeful and excited. You get the genuine tendency to buy that American car and then book a trip to the US. Cool album!" -OOR-

"..one of the most beautiful rootsalbums of 2016.." -festivalinfo-
